Who we are
VELVET ROUTE LIMITED (company number 17171868), registered in England and Wales, whose registered office is at 61 Bridge Street, Kington, United Kingdom, HR5 3DJ ("Velvet Route", "we", "us"), is the operator of this website. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site and how we use it.
Information you give us
- Enquiry details. When you complete an enquiry form, we collect your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number (if provided), destination, travel dates, number of travellers, budget range (if provided) and your message.
- Correspondence. If you contact us by email or messaging apps, we keep a record of that conversation.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange the services you've asked about.
- To administer the services we provide, including communicating with third-party suppliers where necessary to fulfil your request.
- To keep a record of our correspondence in case of questions later.
We do not use your information for automated marketing and we do not sell personal data.
Third-party providers
Some tours, activities, transport and experiences are supplied by independent third-party providers. To arrange these, we may need to share relevant details (such as names, dates and group size) with the provider. We only share what is needed for the arrangement you've asked us to make.
Legal bases and technical data
We process enquiry details to take steps at your request before entering into a contract and to perform agreed services. We use limited technical data for our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and maintaining website security. Hosting logs may contain IP addresses; the form rate limiter uses a hashed client address and a timestamp. The Login preview does not store the email entered there.
Retention
We keep enquiry records for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards in case of follow-up questions or disputes. We do not keep personal data indefinitely.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you send us, including using HTTPS on this website and limiting access to enquiry records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law (including UK GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
Cookies
The site stores your cookie choice in local storage and uses a temporary security session for enquiry forms. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Complaints
You can raise a privacy concern with us or complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/.
